What is the founding myth of Chiclayo city in Peru?

Every culture has its legends about its origins and the Lambayeque culture, to the north of Peru, isn’t an exception. Naylamp God, half-man half-bird, would have come from the sea, accompanied by a court of soldiers and concubines, to create what it would be one of the biggest dynasty of the northern coast of Peru. 

Sea becomes a key element in this culture because their Founder came from it: shells, waves and sea birds decorate the site walls like in Chan Chan or on Tucume pyramid. The legend tells that when Naylamp died, he raised to heaven and his son Cium took the kingdom rules. Then Cium’s sons, establishing a kingdom with a growing influence.
